Autumn Colours

Autumn is here, lavender in my garden has faded and colours are changing in the fields. The nights are darker earlier. Nature has the best colours.
I spent yesterday capturing colours of linen. It's not the easiest textile to photograph. Linen is woven criss cross on a loom and has a high natural lustre. The natural yarn has 'slubs, or small knots, which occur randomly and are part of the appeal of an expensive natural product.
Linen is made from the long fibers that grow inside of the stalks of the flax plant, one of the oldest cultivated crops in history.
